What is Tourmaline?

Tourmaline is a semi-precious, naturally occurring gemstone which we embed into our Infinity Pro Power Bands.
And YES that big black rock above is a large piece of black Tourmaline (also known as Dravite Schorl Tourmaline) - the exact same stuff that's in our Power Bands! Those our are Tourmaline Power Bands sat all over it as well :-)
We keep that piece of Tourmaline in the office to keep the room fresh and it neutralises positive ions from all our electrical equipment. It weighs over 3kg!
OK so Tourmaline is just a black rock?
No it's not just a black rock!
It was first discovered in Sri Lanka in 1703 and is now found in all parts of the world. Tourmaline comes in a variety of beautiful colours including several shades of amber, red, pink, yellow, purple, blue, green, black, brown, translucent and clear.
Our Power Bands are embedded with powdered Black Tourmaline.
During the manufacturing process tourmaline powder is mixed in with the silicone, making the entire wristband a
powerhouse for
Negative Ions, Alpha Waves and Far Infrared Rays (FIR) .
We've designed our power bands so that we can have the highest silicone to tourmaline ratio possible without degrading the stretch qualities of the silicone, this means you get an incredibly powerful product that is extremely stretchy and durable unlike other titanium or fabric bracelets!
Tourmaline is the highest-energy crystal in the world.
In 1880, lab experiments performed by scientists - Pierre and Jacques Curie (Physics Nobel Prize winners) - proved that Tourmaline generates a weak electrical charge when it is heated (pyroelectricity) or when pressure is applied to its surface (piezoelectricity)your body naturally emits heat which warms the power band and thus activating the tourmaline within. This is why tourmaline is known as "The Electric Stone".
Further research by scientists in Japan confirmed that tourmaline carries a constant electrical charge of 0.06mA as well as having magnetic properties. Japanese researchers also found that no matter how small tourmaline is, whether in rock or powder form it is still capable of conveying an electric current.
This explains why the powdered Black Tourmaline we embed into our power bands continues to emit an electrical charge and maintain its physical properties. This electrical charge enables Tourmaline to produce
Negative Ions, Alpha Waves and Far Infrared Rays (FIR) .
Interesting Facts About Tourmaline:
Tourmaline NEVER Runs out of Power
The sun is responsible for life, we all know that, but did you know that the sun is constantly bathing the earth in a continuous stream of negatively charged electrons? Probably not! These electrons enter the positively charged side of Tourmaline and exit through the negative side.
With this current flowing through Tourmaline 24/7 it's like a battery with unlimited life … If only Duracell could think up a way to harness this power in their batteries! This means that when you buy an Infinity Pro Power Band you're buying it for LIFE.
As long as you look after it there is no limit to how long it will last. You can't buy much else for £20 that will last a lifetime!
